Heating Coils

The heating coils are more convenient and they are taking less space. But if you have a large area on your roof you can go with the heating panels that you design instead of the coils.

I used poly tubes that I bought from home depot; each coil is a 100 feet of ½ inch tube that cost $17 in Toronto.

Coil the tubes nicely using wire strap, then connect them all in series using PVC connection fitting. To prevent the water licks and waterproofing your connection you should use clamps and tied them perfectly. The black color of these tube helps to collect more sun energy than the other bright color tubes. Also make sure to put your coils on top of your roof ether it is singles or other material, it will help to collect more heat.

To save paying for a new pump, I am using the swimming pool pomp. Just get a branch off your filter output water with a three way plumbing fitting. I install a water valve just in case the pump is running and I have to do some repair on the coils. The out put of the heating coils again wit a valve connected to the pool heater output pipe to bring the heated water to the pool.

  3. A heating element converts electricity into heat through the process of resistive or Joule heating . Electric current passing through the element encounters resistance , resulting in heating of the element. Unlike the Peltier Effect this process is independent of the direction of current flow.
